Healthy Hawaiian Smoothie with Greens

Iloved Hawaii, even before I’d known what or where it was.

Paradise has to be here: with waterfalls, majestic cliffs lining the ocean, gleaming sunlit shores kissing the horizon. With lush valleys intertwining with Mango, Papaya, Pineapple & Passionfruit trees. Oh Hawaii makes everybody a poet! How cool would it be to rappel down a hidden know, the one you get to after a gorgeous hike? Or maybe listen to ukulele jams while sipping on that Mai-Tai?? Hammock by the beach, anyone??  Homies, Mojo is * definitely * to be found in Hawaii.

What if you could bring all that Hawaii Mojo into your day? I found a way to do this, and now you can too, with this tropical smoothie. It’s got Hawaiian staples like Papaya, Mango, Pineapple & Strawberries. Did I mention its got greens too? Healthy & Hawaiian?? I’ll take one, please!

Packed with antioxidants, loads of Vitamins A & C, you’re also getting protein from greek yogurt & fiber from Chia seeds, it’s a fabulously hearty & tasty spark in your day. This is one healthy, sweet, tangy, creamy & downright delicious Hawaii-inspired smoothie.

Hawaiian Smoothie with Greens

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: Yields 2 servings & hefty dose of Hawaii Nostalgia


  • 1/2 cup frozen Mango (use fresh fruit if you prefer)
  • 1/2 cup frozen Pineapple
  • 1/2 Hawaiian Papaya (de-seeded)
  • 4 Strawberries
  • 3 Tablespoons Greek Yogurt (leave out for vegan version or if you don't like yogurt; add more yogurt if you want a more creamy texture.)
  • 1 cup Fresh Orange Juice
  • 1 Tablespoon Chia seeds
  • 3/4 cup Fresh Greens blend (Any blend will do, I use this )


  1. Place all ingredients in a blender, starting with the frozen fruit at the bottom, followed by yogurt, juice, chia seeds and then the greens.
  2. Blend!
  3. If the smoothie is too thick, add more juice or a little water.
  4. HAVE IT FRESH! If you let the smoothie sit, the bitterness of the greens will eventually bleed into the smoothie & the gross aftertaste cannot be undone. Awesomeness on taste buds, followed by bitterness = what make me want to run to Hawaii on the next plane. Don't let this happen to you!
  5. If you're using fresh fruit, good for you! Add ice cubes (about 4-5) to get a smoothie-like creamy vs. watery consistency.


Vegetarian, Gluten-Free. For Vegan Version: Leave out yogurt.
